I haven't been to a great show in so long that I almost forgot what it's like.
I walked out of the club after witnessing The Faint surge up the crowd song after song. They opened in Glass Danse sending the masses into a frenzy of jumping sweaty bodies. Then came Your Retro Career Melted.
I stood upwards towards the front in front of this girl in horrible shoes dancing with all my might not caring that I was bumping against her. I had a fabulous time.
To begin with, Tarah and I did a bit of shopping on St. Marc's where I got a sacred heart necklace, little baby blue flats with a cute cherry print and a red gingham purse with a pinup girl on it. Not to bad for a hardcore shopper as myself.
At the the show I bought two teeshirts, a CD and six pins. The bulk of the money spent went to food and trains and cabs.
Something was shown to me however. Girls in NYC cannot dress nor match their shoes to what they are wearing. Everyone looked slouchy and everything seem to fit them poorly. Ruffle skirts were the hit of the evening worn with horrid brown boots. Noone cared that they clashed.
I myself showed up in a black dress printed with purple skulls, my candy apple red hair done up in glittery buns adorned in a riot of baby black roses and larger purple flowers.
I wore shoes that didn't hurt my feet.
I had the best time! I'm so glad I got to share that moment with someone I care so much about. I'm so happy that she was happy.
